Ashley Sumrall is a physician in
Jackson, Mississippi. She has completed her training in
Internal Medicine and is currently completing a fellowship
in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Mississippi
Medical Center. She is active in the Mississippi State
Medical Association where she serves on the Legislative
Committee. She is involved with the March of Dimes and The
Little Lighthouse.
She is married to Rusty and has one
daughter, Kinsey, who has special needs. Kinsey was born
prematurely at 24 weeks. She suffered brain bleeds and other
medical problems due to her early arrival, and is still
plagued with seizures, cortical blindness, and developmental
delay. Having a special needs child has brought her family
closer together and changed their lives forever.
